Sovereign Hill chief executive officer Jeremy Johnson is part of a Victorian delegation currently in China.
The agreement was signed by Premier Daniel Andrews and Sichuan Province Governor Yin Li in Chengdu on Saturday.
It is only Victoria’s fourth ever sister-state agreement worldwide and the first since 1994.
Mr Andrews said the agreement would have enormous benefits for the state’s trade, investment, tourism and jobs.
“Sichuan is China’s fastest growing region with a powerhouse economy three times the size of Australia – we’ve now got a front seat and that’s going to be very rewarding for Victorian jobs,” Mr Andrews said.
“This agreement creates real opportunities for business, education, culture and sport – and Victorians will reap the rewards for many years to come.”
