The second half of Sinclair’s committal hearing was held in Ballarat Magistrates Court today but a planned witness appearance via video link was unable to proceed for reasons unknown to the court.
The first half of the committal hearing, on August 3, heard from the victim’s mother that her teenage son had a developed a “scary” and dependent friendship with Sinclair after they met through sport.
The mother also alleged her son later told her Sinclair assaulted him over a four-year period from the time he was 10.
Other charges relating to further victims will also proceed on October 11.
