At the end of each NAB AFL Academy intake every member of the squad votes for the players who best represent the values important to the program and the medal is its highest honour.
When you get voted by your peers in any award … it’s a good feather in his cap.
- Rebels talent manager Phil Partington
North Ballarat Rebels talent manager Phil Partingon was extremely proud and said it was a credit to his approach to his football.
“When you get voted by your peers in any award … it’s a good feather in his cap.” Partington said.
“A boy who has gone through three years of the Rebels program to be recognized in that way, it’s a credit to his local club in Horsham and also his school in Ballarat, Ballarat Clarendon College, have helped develop him as a person.
“It’s a combined effort by a lot of people to get Jarrod to where he wants, but more than anything himself and his family.
“He’s an outstanding young man.”
Berry joins a long list of impressive winners of the award. Giants star Josh Kelly, key Bomber Joe Daniher and last year’s number one pick Jacob Weitering.
