Brewers and owners of four breweries – Red Duck Brewery, Rebellion Brewing, Athletic Club Brewery and newcomer Cubby Haus Brewing – have banded together to launch the trail, which will be supported by venues which support craft beer in The Mallow, The Forge, Main bar and extras such as 321 Cider, Kilderkin Distillery and local wineries.
Red Duck Brewery head brewer Scott Wilson-Browne said the craft beer sector has undergone a resurgence in Ballarat.
“We can now get bus tours and generate beer tourism for Ballarat,” he said.
“It also means overall there's better awareness (of the market) and it shows craft beer is growing.
“Forty years have gone by without really having Ballarat breweries.
“Now we're getting back again and it's all about being local, supporting locals and being proud of being in Ballarat.”
