Banner joined the Devils as their marquee recruit on the back of their 2015 Ballarat Football League premiership.
The star midfielder arrived at Darley Park with impressive credentials, having played 19 AFL games with Port Adelaide from 2009 and 2012 and been a premiership player with Williamstown in 2015..
Although the former Western Jet played in all Darley’s 19 games, he did not have a major impact.
He moved into the role of a small forward – leading the Devils’ goalkicking with 38.
Banner joins star midfielder Steve Kennedy as a key departure for new coach Heath Scotland.
Kennedy is returning to Altona in the Western Region league after a distinguished career in the BFL in which he played in Darley’s first premiership, won the Henderson Medal and captained the representative team.
