Sean Proctor, a life-long car lover, organised the motor show as a fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. 

His mum Joan has lived with MS for almost half her life.

He hopes to raise $10,000 for the MS Society.

“I’ve been into cars all my life, I see everyone else doing it for Cancer Council so I thought I’ll get on board, we’ll do one for the MS Society,” Mr Proctor said. 

“It’s very important because my mum has got MS and there’s no cure for it.”

Between 300 and 400 cars and 100 bikes are expected on the day, including entries from interstate.

The show has been six months in the making for Mr Proctor.

Mrs Proctor said the event “means a lot”. 

“I found out I had MS when I was 42, that’s 33 years ago and fortunately I’ve got a low dose of it and I’m still walking,” she said.

Ballarat Motor Show is on Sunday, October 30 at the Ballarat Show Grounds.

The motor show is open to the public from 9am to 4pm, for a gold coin donation. 

Car and motorcycle entry opens at 7am for a $10 registration fee. 

Show and shine car categories include best club display, best wagon and best ute. 

Show and shine motorcycle categories include best cruiser, best sports and best custom.

Entertainment includes kid’s activities including face painting and a jumping castle, and a raffle and auction and a performance by Ballarat cover band Azio.

The CFA will also be doing a demonstration of the jaws of life.
