THE KIRTON Shield launches the Ballarat Cricket Association’s representative program on Sunday.

Ballarat will again have two teams in the Central Highlands region under-17 competition.

Coached by Les Sedman, Ballarat Blue (under-16) meets the Central Highlands development squad, while the Gerard Maher-coach Ballarat Gold plays Grampians.

The BCA’s under-12, under-13, under-14 and under-15 squads train on Sunday. Under-12 and under-13 players train at the Eastern Oval at 10am. The under-14 and under-15 squads train at North Ballarat from 10am.

BCA selectors inform players and clubs about under-14 and under-15 squads.

Selectors are accepting further nominations via club junior co-ordinators and BCA junior committee chairman David Sproules.

Country Week set

The dates has been set for the Victorian Country Cricket League Melbourne Country Week.

The BCA will make another title tilt from Monday, February 18, to Friday, February 22.
