The young Miners play in division one and act as a development and feeder team for Ballarat in the South East Australian Basketball League.
Six youth league players suited up for the GMHBA Miners in SEABL home and away games.
Youth league Miners head coach Travis Hewish said the primary goal of the team was to develop players and lay the foundation for the SEABL program – ensuring a smooth transition for players into the second tier of basketball in Australia.
Ballarat fielded a young team in the Big V last season, with the average age being 18 in a competition that allows for players up until the age of 23.
