The Red Lion United Way Golf Classic drew one hundred business people and featured thousands of dollars worth of prizes donated by the business community.
United Way Ballarat chief executive Geoff Sharp said the day was a chance to show businesses what the organisation was all about.
“Each team has a charity that they’re playing for so it gives the teams a sense of who they’re raising money for and increases the visibility of those programs,” he said.
“We usually raise somewhere in the region of $20,000 and it goes towards a huge number of not-for-profits around the community.”
