Australia’s most prolific winning trainer produced six winners across four meetings in two states.

Although the well fancied Real Love was unplaced in the $3m Caulfield Cup, 2400m, Weir still managed to land a double at Caulfield.

Jennifer Lynn ($11) improved her Victoria Oaks prospects by taking out the $100,000 MyPunter.com Plate, 1400m, and the resolute Voodoo Lad ($2.50 favourite) in the group 3 Moonga Stakes, 1400m.

Weir's racing manager Jeremy Rogers said they would let the dust settle before deciding where Jennifer Lynn headed next. The filly tightened from $51 to $26 for the Oaks.

Voodoo Lad reinforced his durability in bringing up his ninth win in 17 career starts in the ninth outing this preparation – his first for Weir, which has produced five wins, three seconds and a third.

The 5yo went to Caulfield off a second in group 1 company and Weir indicated post-race Voodoo Lad deserved another crack at a group 1 race.

The Ballarat trainer also produced a double much closer to home at Avoca.

Imported stayer Count of Limonade ($5.50) ended a long run of outs in the $20,000 Blue Pyrenees Estate Avoca Cup, 1860m.

His only other win since arrive in Australia from Ireland had been the 2014 Moe Cup when prepared by Mick Price. This was his first time in the money in six starts for Weir. He made most the running and finished more than a length clear of top weight Pucinni ($6), with Desert Samurai ($3.60) third.

Weir completed the Avoca double with Cullinan ($4.60) in the  Ladbrokes Benchnmark58 Handicap, 1860m, which gave jockey Declan Bates a running treble – including the cup.

Weir’s other wins for the day came at Bendigo and Morphettville in Adelaide.
