Friday, Liz Stringer @ Kyneton Music Festival
Leading a stellar line up will be Liz Stringer. Recorded in Portland, Oregon, new collection of songs All The Bridges features guitar work on all material, as Stringer veers into some wonderful rootsty pop with recognisable, heartfelt ballads. Rolling Stone magazine made some flattering Chrissie Hynde comparisons in its review. Indeed, Stringer has become a favourite among punters for her generous and engaging stage demeanour and her skill as a storyteller. She has proved with solo shows, and with Van Walker at The Old Hepburn, that she’s very open to offers on stage.
Saturday, Lunar Dust @ Daylesford Cidery, 12.30pm
The band will launch EP Forbidden Dance. Featuring Vanessa Craven on chaturangui (Hindustani slide guitar), vocals, harmonica and guitar; Don Gula on double bass; Paul Jonas on violin; Peter Vadivaloo on percussion; and Suzanne Coutanceau on vocal harmonies.
