Running alongside the Archibald Prize, which opened on Friday at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, a new artisan market will this weekend arrive in Ballarat, featuring 120 stalls of artisan wares, food trucks, wine tastings, and goods from designers and crafters.
The Creators Market will be held October 22 at the Ballarat Exhibition Centre from 11am to 6pm, and is the first of its kind to be held in Ballarat following its Melbourne launch in late 2014.
Event director Megan Luscombe said the Ballarat event would be more than double the size of the regular Prahran market.
“The market has been incredibly successful in Prahran and we’re keen to take it to more regional areas where the quality of the products from local makers is simply fantastic,” she said.
“Having a venue the size of the Ballarat Exhibition Centre means we can give many more stall holders the opportunity to participate.”
