Ms Lusby and her fellow nurses brought several hats to wear, including a camoflauge sports cap and a bright pink 1950s racegoers headpiece, to raise awareness of brain cancer.

“In this department we’re trying to highlight the different tumour streams,” Ms Lusby said.

An information stall in the BRICC foyer also provided advice for patients and carers.

“It’s the least researched and most under-funded of the tumour streams. We want to get awareness out there and let people know what resources are out there. It’s only a little stone in the pond but hopefully it will make a big ripple.”
