The Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society (BAPS) is all set to host its 150th Spring Show, with so much to see and do, patrons just might have to visit each of the three days.
There will be more than 300 exhibits and attractions, including historical displays such as vintage engines, sewing machines and shoe making, together with the modern exhibitions that showcase all that’s wonderful about agriculture and bridges the gap between the farm and city.
One of the most popular stalls for people to visit year after year is the craft and cooking, with the wider Ballarat community competing for the title of best slice and cake, winning a prize for art and photography, or entering their knitting, crochet and sewing.
Another drawcard for everyone is the traditional show food, be it a dagwood dog or fresh, local produce.
The very popular tradition of the CWA and BAPS Ladies Committee catering is an institution and has always attracted great interest over the years.
The Ballarat Show is also a terrific place to learn about animals and get up close to understand how important animals are in our lives, an opportunity many people don’t get to enjoy.
Top it all off with roving entertainment, trade stalls, Australian wood chopping and sheaf toss championships, Victorian state final dog jump, music, fireworks, rides, show bags, sideshows, show jumping, and an art show, and it’s easy to see why this special anniversary Show is not to be missed.
The Ballarat Show is on from November 11-13. For more information, visit www.ballaratshow.org.au
