Kluske says the seven-year-old is in the best shape he has been all spring for what is his fourth Victorian start this campaign.
Go Dreaming goes into the 2200m event after runs in the JRA Cup at Moonee Valley, Caulfield Cup and Bendigo Cup, with Kluske having no hesitation in making another trip from South Australia.
Kluske said he had been really pleased with the Bendigo Cup run.
He said although Go Dreaming finished seventh, he was in contention for a placing well into the home straight and had pulled up really well.
Kluske is confident that Go Dreaming can produce his best run of the spring in Ballarat, with the gelding suited in listed company.
Go Dreaming is two-time listed winner, having saluted in last year’s Onkaparinga Cup, 2150m, at Oakbank, and Port Adelaide Cup, 2500m, at Morphettville – races which Kluske believes puts the gelding in good stead for the Sportsbet-Ballarat assignment.
Kluske made the trip from Strathalbyn to his Ararat base for the visit on Thursday – a day earlier than he would normally travel for a Victorian race to ensure Go Dreaming did not have any issues with the heat.
Kluske has engaged veteran jockey Darren Gauci for what will be his first time on Go Dreaming.
With Go Dreaming best suited when he runs up on the pace, Gauci looks a perfect fit.
Gauci is one of Victoria’s best front-running riders and should have few problems finding a forward position from barrier six and if he chooses leading.
Go Dreaming is rated a $26 chance.
