The lack of available bowlers has impacted a number of sides in the lower divisions.
Such an occurrence means there is bowlers missing out on the opportunity to have a recreational game of bowls and the social interaction the sport enjoys.
To address the issue, Holt will be preparing a bank of available players that clubs with shortage issues can call on as substitutes.
To facilitate the process, clubs are asked to forward the names of available bowlers willing to assist other sides to Holt by 7.30pm on Thursdays for weekend pennant matches and 6pm on Fridays for the midweek competition.
Holt can be contacted on 0418 544 963 for further details.
ALLAN Donelly, John Beames and Graeme Simpson claimed victory at last Sunday’s Buninyong triples tournament.
Bill Innes, Ken Sargeant and Mick Storey were runners-up.
This event was re-scheduled due to the rains on the previous weekend and Buninyong’s tournament organiser said Sunday’s good weather ensured for a great day of bowls.
With three rinks of three-game winners, a play-off between the two highest scorers was used to determine the day’s final victors.
