A TRUCK driver amazingly walked away unscathed after his vehicle plummeted almost 10 metres off the side of the Western Highway last night.
Travelling west on the highway at Windermere just before 9pm, the driver lost control of the truck and fell off the side of the road at high speed.
Linton Police Leading Senior Constable Tony Walker the truck remarkably stayed upright and landed on its wheels during the crash, losing a small portion of its load, which included a new Harley Davidson motorbike and large quantities of flour.
The driver, from Horsham, was not injured.
"He was amazingly lucky," said Leading Senior Constable Walker.
"He has actually done really well to keep it upright in the end."
