They are raising funds to assist both the Ballarat Soup Bus and the Balay sa Kabus Foundation in the Philippines.
FAABI’s Georgina Vagg says their work goes to help build and renovate the homes of the poor in the islands, buying nails and plywood and tin, as well as food.
“Last Christmas we sent over $1000, and that would be a lot of money over there,” Ms Vagg said.
“We were able to feed 80 families; they had tins of corned beef, rice, ham and a bag of fruit.”
The open garden runs from 11.45am until 2pm, December 4, at 13 Hotham Street. The cost of entrance is $10, which includes a glass of wine, savouries and music by Barry Currie.
FAABI is also holding a Christmas dinner on December 3 at Cooinda Hall, Learmonth Road, Wendouree.
