WENDOUREE is one of the most obese suburbs in the state. More than 70 per cent of adults living in Wendouree and Miners Rest are classed as obese, according to a new health tracker.

The figure clear outweighs the proportion of obesity in other Ballarat neighbourhoods, which range from 63.6 to 66.8 per cent of adults.

Lalor, Corio/Norlane and Campbellfield top the statewide scale at 70.9 per cent of adults living with obesity, as shown in the Australian Health Policy Collaboration’s online health tracker.

Obese is classed as having a body mass index of 30-plus. Heart Foundation also recommends considering waist measures and other risk factors.

Daylesford boasts the lowest rates of blood pressure problems in the state.
