One person was killed and six others injured when the woman's car allegedly pulled out in front of the truck, causing it to swerve.

Emergency services were called to the freeway near Milleara Road in East Keilor about 8.35am on May 24 after the petrol tanker collided with a number of vehicles.

The truck crashed into several cars before flipping on its side, spilling 20,000 litres of fuel on the road.

One car was crushed under the truck during the incident and a 48-year-old man died.

Six others, including the truck driver, were taken to hospital.

The accident caused the busy freeway to remain closed overnight as the Metropolitan Fire Brigade set up an exclusion zone around the site.

The crash was described at the time as one of the Melbourne's worst.

A 48-year-old Keilor woman is facing six charges, including dangerous driving causing death, reckless conduct endangering life and failing to give way.

The woman was bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday for a filing hearing.
