A man has been hit by a truck on the Hume Freeway while getting out of his car.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, had stopped his car on the side of the freeway and was getting out when he was struck by the truck.
He suffered an ankle injury and facial lacerations in the collision, which happened about 3.45pm on Monday.
The incident occurred on the Cooper Street overpass in Epping, where the man had stopped his car.
It is not yet clear why the driver had stopped on the side of the freeway.
The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
One inbound lane of the Hume Freeway near Cooper Street was temporarily closed to traffic, but re-opened just before 6pm.
