Adam Lyons, of Banksia Road, pleaded guilty to burglary, theft and unlicensed driving on Tuesday.
The court heard Lyons told police he remembered panicking and calling a tow truck when his car got bogged.
Lyons’ shoe impression was found inside the Esmond Street address, and the stolen property was later located at Lyons’ home.
His lawyer, Mike Wardell, said while it was another sorry tale of someone preying on the community, the difference here was that Lyons had done something about his problems. He said Lyons took control of his drug problem and had not re-offended.
Lyons was placed on a 12-month CCO with orders to complete 150 hours of community work. He was also fined $500.
