The doubles specialist is part of the strongest overseas contingent in the five-year history of the tournament.
The five-day event, which starts at Ballarat Regional Tennis Centre on Saturday, December 17, has players from Singapore, France, NZ and China among 140 players.
Australia’s 25th ranked Dane Propoggia from Sydney is the number one seed.
Propoggia, 26, has won five overseas titles – three ITF Futures singles in Thailand, Korea and Turkey; and two ATP Challenger doubles in Italy.
He is one of 12 men ranked in the top Australian 100.
BRTC’s Rob Benoit said it was great to get international players of the quality and standing of Moser to Ballarat for a Tennis Australia event which was growing in stature each year.
He said it was an ideal event for players arriving in Australia for the summer circuit to start acclimatising to weather and court (plexicushion) conditions.
The 40-year-old Moser has been on the professional circuit since the late 1990s.
Moser has had a career-high world singles ranking of 288 and doubles of 47, having played in men’s doubles at each of the four majors – Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and United States Opens – a total of eight times.
He contested the second of two Australian Opens in 2013.
Moser has won 60 ITF Futures and ATP Challenger doubles titles.
In one of his latest events, he reached the semi-finals at Orleans in France in October.
Masa Jovanovic is the women’s singles top seed for the Gold AMT event. She is ranked 25 in Australia.
Ballarat’s Zoe Hives is the second seed.
The tournament will also feature a silver 18/under event.
Entries: 18/under boys’ singles, 41; 18/under girls’ singles, 18; men’s singles, 91; women’s singles 45; men’s doubles 37; women’s doubles 26.
Ballarat Regional Tennis Centre will also be the venue for a Tennis Australia White AMT and JT event in the lead-up to the Gold AMT.
This starts next Monday.
