The 19-year-old has long dreamt of riding against the best in the world.
And given the way she has fought her way back from a serious racing injury, there is no doubting she has the determination and willpower to realise the dream.
Milesevic is a multiple Australian junior champion and showed she was again at the top of her game with a second in the women’s expert class in this year’s Victorian senior titles and fourth in the nationals – a remarkable achievement given the neck and back injuries she suffered in 2015.
She was expected to miss at least a year, but with intense rehabilitation returned to racing early this year after just six months.
She now wants to have a crack at the world’s best in Europe, but the extent of her campaign will depend what she can afford.
“I’d love to finish in the top five in the world’s top motocross competition for women.
“I think that would be a good pace to be riding at. The girls over there are quite quick, but if I ride well and keep training hard I should be up at the pointy-end of the field, hopefully,” she said.
Milesevic has launched a GoFundMe page in effort to get the required finance.
“Depending on how much funds I raise, I really want to compete in all seven rounds.
“It’s quite expensive to go over there, obviously, living in another country and having to borrow bikes, hire cars, and pay for accommodation,” she said.
She has also had several fund-raising efforts
“I’d really like to thanks the Ballarat community, and all of my personal sponsors, who have donated products. It really means a lot.”
Milesevic was also a scholarship recipient in the latest Ballarat Sports Foundation scholarship round – the third and last for the year.
She was one of nine athletes to receive funding in a presentation ceremony at “Sails” at Ballarat Yacht Club.
The foundation has now presented 1208 scholarships in 74 sports for a total of $435,000 in scholarships since being formed in 1995.
