A distraught son has called every contact in his 87-year-old father’s phone book in a desperate bid to find the missing man.

Brian Andrews disappeared from his Inglis Street, Ballan home without a trace a week ago. He was last seen about 1pm on December 7, leaving his house in a his distinctive black Citroen with a maroon roof, registration IBE 9GJ.
His son Peter Andrews described his father as a well-loved, sociable man who would chat to anyone. He said Brian had recently adopted a cat and seemed the happiest he had been in a long time. Police have scoured the country searching for Brian, who may appear confused, disoriented and hot because of a medical condition.
"When he is in unfamiliar territory and not sure where he is, he will definitely be a bit confused and disorientated," Peter said.
"He is very sociable and will always talk to people."
Leading Senior Constable Kenneth Birch said police have concerns given Brian had been missing for a number of days.
"There are a lot of ongoing investigations [into the disappearance] happening at a local level in Ballan," he said.
Police have investigated most places Brian travels to, including restaurants and cafes. He hasn’t travelled in nearly four years.
“My request to the community is to contact Crime Stoppers if anyone sees the gentleman.”
