Bruns has been cleared to Heathcote District league side Leitchville Gunbower for the upcoming campaign.
His departure is a massive blow for the Demons, which gained the explosive defender’s services in 2011.
Bruns played over 100 senior games for Bungaree, including a memorable display in the 2014 grand final triumph over Springbank.
In a story that dominated the lead-up to the decider, Bruns eventually won a race against time to be fit from a hamstring injury and played a starring role in the Demons’ success.
He kicked four goals and was one of the team’s best in a brilliant display.
Bungaree will again be coached by Heath Pyke in 2017 and is out to better its straight-sets exit from the 2016 finals series after finishing the regular season in third spot.
