Bromley, along with fellow members Peter Carey and Simon Gilbert, resigned from the club’s board on Monday night, before Buckenara was informed his position is being made redundant on Tuesday morning.
Interim chairman Shaune Moloney told The Courier board replacements would be appointed at the club’s annual general meeting in February.
He denied the three departing members had been pushed from the roles or that there was a challenge to the board.
“They have made strong and assertive decisions that their time is up and it just provides an opportunity for other people to volunteer,” he said.
Ross Johns also stepped down from his spot on the board in recent weeks.
Moloney said Bromley had provided great service to the club, which includes time on its board since 2015.
“She’s a great North person and she’s going to continue to be an important part of our club,” he said.
Moloney clarified Buckenara’s job is being withdrawn and that the Hawthorn legend had not been sacked from the position.
Buckenara only spent one season in the job.
“There’s no doubt there’s an element of managing our 2017 budget as part of that (decision) and we’re always looking at the resources we have and how we can best allocate those,” Moloney explained.
“At this point in time, the allocation of our resources towards the general manager of (football) wasn’t the best use of our resources, which is why the decision was made.”
This latest news follows a decision from the North Ballarat board to keep the Roosters in the Victorian Football League in 2017, despite a struggling financial position, which has put strain on the club.
Last week it was announced that H.Troon is the new naming rights sponsor of the Roosters.
The club is expected to soon appoint a new chief executive officer, following the departure of Mark Patterson earlier this year.
