At least nine of the vehicles had their driver side window smashed in Malvern and Malvern East overnight on Boxing Day.
Rude awakening. Up to 30 cars hit overnight in Malvern/E Malvern incl mine. Thanks to Malvern Police for their professionalism. #springst pic.twitter.com/y2T0L0y5E8— Michael O'Brien (@michaelobrienmp) December 27, 2016
Shadow treasurer and Malvern MP Michael O'Brien told radio station 3AW the driver side window of his car was smashed.
"There's glass everywhere, things taken out," he said.
Mr O'Brien said a coin jar for parking meters was taken. He said the incident had affected his sense of security.
"It seems to be a combination of absolutely mindless vandalism, mindless violence and opportunistic theft."
The vehicles were located in Fisher Street, Beech Street, Manning Road, Thanet Street, McKinley Avenue, Wattletree Road, Claremont Avenue, Emo Road, Beaver Street, Chaucer Avenue and Anderson Street across Malvern and Malvern East.
It comes after more than 30 cars were significantly damaged on Christmas night in Balwyn.
Police have said that Audi cars were a target, warning residents to park in their garage or driveway if possible, and to remove service books and valet keys from their vehicles.
Residents of the affected streets - Yarrbat Avenue, Knutsford Street, Burroughs Road and Nungerner Street – were encouraged to provide any CCTV footage that could help police in their investigation.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
