Moloney said it was great to see a figure with the credentials of Wilson offering his services to the struggling club and said there had been plenty of interest for the board positions left vacant following the departure of five board members this month.
“I am pleased that there is a strong amount of interest in our club, I am pleased that people are willing to volunteer to come onto our board and fill any role at our club,” Moloney said.
“Anytime someone has a positive plan for our footy club and is willing to give up their time and effort to contribute to our footy club – I’m supportive of that.
“In this case, Peter Wilson and the people he’s been talking to are saying that they’re wanting to roll their sleeves up, they’re wanting to work hard for the footy club and contribute and that would always be welcomed.
“I would encourage anyone that would like to join our club, to continue to look optimistically at our future.”
Following a tough period for the Roosters, Moloney said there had been a number of North Ballarat people put their names forward to help the club – Moloney highlighted Steve Troon as a prime example.
“Steve Troon’s an example of that. He recognised that we were looking for support and he, along with H.Troon, have come on board – I think that’s an excellent example of a North Ballarat person who has decided to step up when we’ve needed it.”
In the case there are more nominations than available board positions, a vote will be put to the Roosters 800 members and an announcement to be made at February’s Annual General Meeting.
