The 3BA Christmas Appeal cash donations have been tallied and totalled almost $170,000, while donated items including food, toys, confectionery, clothing and presents had an estimated value of $100,000.
Appeal director Peter Caligari said the result confirmed the high regard in which the appeal is held within the Ballarat community.
“I never lose sight of the fact that everything which this wonderful appeal has been able to achieve over many, many years, has only been made possible through the generosity of our very caring community,” he said.
“Ballarat has a wonderful track record when it comes to supporting worthy appeals, and in particular less fortunate families.”
Every donation remains in Ballarat and supports welfare agencies that include UnitingCare, Anglicare, the Salvation Army and the St Vincent de Paul Society.
