Marjorie Hill, who grew up in Tasmania before moving to Melbourne, Townsville and finally Ballarat, rounded out her four day centenary celebration with a family lunch on Saturday.
Mrs Hill is also the first in her family to have lived to 100, a milestone her aunt missed by just two months.
She has three children, 13 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and three great-great-great grandchildren.
“Everything is in front of me and everybody that I love and I couldn’t care about anything else,” she said.
“I love my family.”
Mrs Hill never left the Antipodes but “liked new adventures all the time” and is a “wandering, gypsy soul”, daughters Cheryl O’Brien and Vicki Marios said.
“Her garden and the St Kilda Footy Club have been her whole life,” Mrs Marios said.
Mrs Hill’s cousin turned 92 the day before her 100th birthday celebrations on Saturday.
“They’re still talking about their long genes,” Mrs Marios said.
