Part of the Western Freeway was closed due to a grassfire at Ravenhall.
CFA spokesman Craig Ludeman said the fire in Christies Road, near the Western Freeway, started about 6.10pm on Saturday.
An advice warning for smoke was issued for the surrounding area.
The blaze was not deemed suspicious.
CFA and MFB crews joined forces as two more grassfires were reported within 10 minutes of each other.
MFB firefighters were called to a blaze in Fitzgerald Road, Sunshine West, shortly before 8pm.
As they battled the six-hectare fire, which sent smoke billowing over the Western Ring Road, they were called to another fire nearby in Federation Walk, Cairnlea.
CFA joined MFB firefighters to contain a 15-hectare fire, which threatened nearby property before destroying a disused rotunda.
The Sunshine West and Cairnlea fires are believed to be suspicious and have been referred to Victoria Police for investigation.
