The young man shouted his warning as an unknown motorist sped closer to the group of friends in Melbourne's south-east.

They had been heading home from a late-night party. Now, they were leaping out of the way of a speeding hatchback.

Mobile phone footage of the incident, obtained by Seven and Nine News, shows how the group was almost run down by the maniac driver.

The terrifying incident happened only minutes after a house party in Springvale South had ended in a wild brawl.

Rangi Beniamina's daughters had hosted the Saturday night party and never expected to see such violence.

She said she was furious that the driver then escalated tensions further by putting people's lives at risk.

"That's stupid. Why would you do that to young people?" Ms Beniamina told reporters. "They're just making their way home."

It was only supposed to be a 20th birthday party.

Her daughters had lined up security, notified police, and used a door list to keep out troublemakers, she said.

But police believe the brawling began when the party was over. Multiple people were involved in a fight that erupted about 12.40am on Sunday near the Harmony Court home.

Two boys in their mid-teens were taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor stab wounds to their upper body, said Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen.

A girl in her mid-teens was taken to Dandenong Hospital with facial abrasions.

Another two boys and a girl in their mid-teens were treated at the scene after suffering from the effects of capsicum spray.

Ms Beniamina said she will never again let her children host a house party.

"I would like to apologise to the parents," she said.

"I'm deeply sorry that those children got hurt. We tried to control it the best that we could."

Police are still investigating, and no one has been arrested or charged.
