Betty celebrated her 90th birthday in style, roaring up to the Red Lion hotel on a surprise motorcycle ride given to her by her children.
“It was great to be on the bike, but nice to be sitting back in the trike,” Berry said.
The great-grandmother has lived in Ballarat for 45 years and refuses to give away her secret to reaching 90.
“She lives by herself, looks after herself, keeps busy doing things. That’s the secret,” daughter Jan Leverett said.
“She’s been a wonderful mother to us and has always been interested in her grandchildren and played a very important role.”
Betty has 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Betty’s grand entrance was met by her family and friends who cheered Betty on and then enjoyed a celebratory lunch.
While she enjoyed the celebrations Betty said turning 90 was not a big deal.
“It’s just another day.”
