This week’s meeting is the first since the club’s Ballarat Cup program in November last year.
A range of remedial works and improvements to the track have been behind the break in racing, which has included transferred meetings away from Ballarat during the early part of this month to ensure the surface has time to recover.
BTC chief executive Lachlan McKenzie said the rail is out 11m for a portion of the circuit on Wednesday because the outside of the course had responded better to the works.
He said five jockeys had ridden the track and given it the tick of approval, as had the stewards.
The first of Wednesday’s races jumps at 1.30pm, with the last of eight scheduled to go at 5pm.
