She has spent the past four winters with Ballarat Rush in the South East Australian Basketball League plays with Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL.
She announced late last year that she was leaving Rush and basing herself in Melbourne in 2017.
“It feels like a new beginning for me, a fresh start and chance to take my development to the next level,” Burton, 20, said.
MEANWHILE, Ballarat has two representatives in Vic Country teams for the national under-18 championships in Townsville on April 8-15.
Josh Kunan and Georgia Amoore have earned selection. Isabella Hill and Sophie Molan, also from Ballarat, are emergencies.
Nathan Cooper-Brown and Daniel Knaggs are assistant coaches with the boys’ team and Rob Baker an assistant with the girls.
