Sounds impossible – but whether it was piece by piece or in one load, the theft is believed to have happened sometime on Australia Day.
The Mallow manager Dallas Robb said the hotel had loaned the game from the Ballarat Beer Festival in a bid to provide family and adult friendly entertainment during the warmer summer months.
The game had been at the hotel for just two days when Mr Robb noticed it was gone.
“We believe it happened after close on Australia Day. I don’t remember seeing it on Friday,” Mr Robb said.
“We brought the game to the hotel as we wanted to have some more entertainment options for kids and adults.
“It had been really popular.”
The game, in its entirety, is six foot tall but Mr Dallas said only half the pieces were on display. Each block is around 30 centimetres long and about 3-4 centimetres thick.
Staff are offering a reward for the return of the game.
