A man has died in hospital after his vehicle crashed into a tree at Broadwater in Victoria's south-west on Thursday.

Police say the 77-year-old Port Fairy man was the sole occupant of a vehicle travelling on Port Fairy-Hamilton Road about 11.30am.
He is believed to have lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the road and hit a tree.
The man was taken to a hospital in Melbourne but died on Friday.
His death brings the state's road toll to 21, two less than for this time last year.
