A 42-year-old man has been arrested after a body was found in a Coburg house on Saturday afternoon.

Victoria Police spokesman Alistair Parsons said homicide squad detectives had arrested a Coburg man following the discovery of a man's body.
"The body of a 73-year-old man was discovered at a residence on Baxter Street about 2.25pm," Senior Constable Parsons said.
"Police have arrested a 42-year-old Coburg man and he is currently assisting police with their enquiries."
