Ballarat police Senior Constable Jane Stewart said police were searching for offenders who had smashed a number of car windows in Alfredton streets on Saturday night.
The front and back windows of vehicles parked on Longley Street, Paley Court and Cuthberts Road were smashed during linked random attacks.
Senior Constable Jane Stewart has asked anyone in the area with street-facing CCTV footage to contact police.
Cuthberts Road resident Pete Niehaus realised he was a victim of the attack when his children went outside and found their father’s 4WD front window shattered.
“I’m not happy. It’s happened before. The front window has been damaged. It is an inconvenience. I will now have to take time from work to report it, claim insurance,” Mr Niehaus said.
Multiple other victims took to social media to express their dismay at the senseless damage.
Dayle, who did not disclose her surname, pleaded for witnesses to contact police.
Her blue car’s rear window was damaged in Redan “within quite a small timeframe”.
Labeling the act “pure vandalism” she said offenders had not attempted to break into her car or rifle through her packed car boot.
