She never imagined her one ticket would one day be the ticket, winning a Ford Kuga Ambiente in Ballarat.
Rotary Club of Ballarat South’s far-reaching community raffle drew the North Croydon-based primary school principal and Traralgon’s Louise Varsaci, who as runner-up took home a new Ford Fiesta Ambiente Hatch.
Ms Perkins was still in disbelief on Monday and could hardly wait to show her pupils, after one of them made an announcement to the whole school assembly about her major win.
Rotary Club of Ballarat South’s Ian Bishop said the community raffle started 25 years ago to assist clubs in fundraising. This year, 107 clubs sold more than $214,000 worth of tickets. Eclipse Ford has been a long-time raffle partner, including in early days when first prize was a Ford Fairlane.
Ms Perkins said it was the best $2 investment – and it helped the community.
