The Tonnas played against another family team, the Wades and their associates.
The first set was a cliffhanger, with gun Ryan Coleiro leading from the start for Tonna and Co with his superb setting to Adam Tonna and Chris Timmins. Not to be denied, Craig Wade from Team Extreme with his young players Adrian Mrsic, Ben Tspsalis and Joshua Wade continually threatened to take the set.
Tonna and Co eventually won the set 27 points to 25, what a battle.
The second set had Sonya Willis and Steph Coleiro asserting their serving power over the young Team Extreme side with the pressure of a grand final and disappointment of losing a close first set showing. Tonna and Co won the set 25/15.
The third set had Danielle Tonna passing the ball well to her teammates to help set up Tonna and Co’s attacking play. Despite the defensive work of Maria Wade and Darlene Cole, they could not overcome the experience of the Tonnas, losing the set and match 25/19.
