The CFA has issued an advice message for residents and motorists are urged to stay clear of the area.
Up to 18 vehicles are on the scene of the fire which is travelling in a south-westerly direction towards Lethbridge.
There is currently no threat to communities, but residents should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
In almost three quarters of Victoria - The Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, Central, North Central and South West - a day of Total Fire Ban has been declared. Ballarat region faces severe fire danger.
People in the area should:
