Police are searching for a woman accused of physically assaulting another woman as she walked in Ballarat’s Central Business District in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police said the incident occurred on February 18, at about 1am, on the corner of Lydiard Street Street between Sturt and Mair Streets.
Ballarat police Leading Senior Constable Natasha Hall said the victim,27, was walking alone when she was approached and allegedly attacked from behind by the other woman.
“The parties were not known to each other and it was an unprovoked assault,” Senior Constable Hall said.
The woman sustained minor injuries.
Another man, who came to the aid of the victim, also sustained bruising to his eye.
The suspect is described as tall with an olive complexion.
She had hair tied back and was with a small group of males and females.
