The Burrumbeet trainer/driver has star pacer Petacular engaged in the New South Wales Oaks, which is a feature on the bumper card of racing at Menangle.
Stanley has trained two and driven three group 1 winners in his career, one of which is Petacular, who won the Vicbred Super Series two-year-old fillies’ final last year.
The horse has drawn poorly in barrier 14 for Saturday night’s race, but is rated as a $2.60 chance of victory with the TAB.
Meanwhile, Cardigan trainer Emma Stewart has two shots at group 1 glory.
Miss Graceland will tackle Petacular in the Oaks, while Our Little General is in the New South Wales Derby field.
Anton Golino, who also trains at Cardigan, will prepare Glenferrie Burn for the group 1 Australian Pacing Gold Trotters Cup.
He has scratched stablemate Vincennes from the race.
