The Ballarat sprinter took out the Geelong Gift over 100m.
He ran off 5.5m to hold off Ballarat Gift winner Jasper Nettlefold by 0.046 seconds.
Moloney has been building under the guidance of coach Peter O'Dwyer - qualifying for the Ballarat Gift final in a season in which he has also had podium finishes in 70m and 120m finals.
Reigning Stawell Women’s Gift winner and stablemate Talia Martin, and the Mick Benoit-trained John Jones also provided Ballarat with success.
Martin, running off one of the back ,marks of 16m, took out the women’s 300m, while Jones (65m) saluted in a masters 300m on the Geelong foreshore.
The Victorian Athletic League season has six meetings remaining, including Bendigo on March 11, Ararat on March 25 and Ringwood on April 2 as the final lead-up to the Stawell Easter Gift.
