The Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute is positioning itself as a place to be on Saturday as White Night takes over the streets of Ballarat from dusk to dawn.
From 7pm the upstairs Humffray Room at the BMI will feature free live performances from Ballarat artists, with visuals of historic Ballarat from the BMI collection and artworks and music from Ellen Sørensen.
Between 7pm and 1am DJ Bren Luke will keep the beats churning, along with improvised theatre, music and dance courtesy of Jam'n JAR. The Winter Berries will then provide the soundtrack to the night with their classical-pop blend featuring female vocal harmonies, strings and hauntingly beautiful guitar.
Don't miss the world-premiere at midnight of The Night ReVerses, a unique two-man show performed by poet Nathan Curnow and singer songwriter Geoffrey Williams.
Using the rhythm of the line and the groove of the beat, these two masters of their crafts will remix carefully constructed poems into live music improvisation.
