Gavin Lang is building his dream family home in Lorensini Drive, Lucas. The process is long and expensive. The house has not been constructed yet, but builders had completed an 18 metre colour bond fence.
Days after Mr Lang stood back and admired the fenceline of his soon-to-be home – most of the fence was gone.
“I was actually up in Sydney. Because we are building a house my wife went to go and check on it and we realised all the panels from a particular section of fencing had been stolen,” he said.
Ballarat Superintendent Andrew Allen said police were investigating the theft between February 22 and 24.
“(The theft occurred) at a site where a house is under construction. The site backs onto vacant land,” Superintendent Allen said.
“Patrols are being conducted in the area, and we ask that residents and trades people working in this area contact Crimestoppers if they see any suspicious activity.”
