The Opposition has ramped up the heat on Premier Daniel Andrews and Labor over the furore, with Matthew Guy quoting reports that former deputy speaker Don Nardella had lived in Ballarat for some time as well as a caravan in Ocean Grove.
Mr Guy said he believed Mr Nardella could have made more claims up to $250,000.
"It is my understanding that Mr Nardella has claimed the second residence allowance, not just for his time supposedly in a caravan in Ocean Grove, but also for the years that he lived in Ballarat," Mr Guy said.
"That's why we need to have this documentation released. That's why the truth needs to come out."
"A caravan at a block of land in Ocean Grove does not constitute a principal place of residence for a member of parliament who owns two homes in his electorate...this is a very clear case of a member of parliament who has been caught rorting the system," Mr Guy said.
Mr Guy speculated in parliament that Mr Nardella could have made more claims up to $250,000.
Mr Andrews said entitlements were appropriately administered by the parliament, not the government executive. Mr Nardella has hit the spotlight for refusing to repay $100,000 he claimed in allowances for living in Ocean Grove, over 90 kilometres from his electorate.
He was forced out of the parliamentary Labor Party and onto the crossbench this week after refusing to repay the money Premier Andrews had demanded he do.
Nationals Leader Peter Walsh asked the Premier in parliament why he would not refer to police what Mr Walsh called the "clear case" of fraud perpetrated by Mr Nardella. The allowance scandal also claimed the job of former Speaker Telmo Languiller, who claimed nearly $40,000 to live in Queenscliff rather than his Tarneit electorate for most of 2016
