The South Australian headlines a quality line-up of 50, which also features three-time Australian champion Brad McClure – a regular at the Buninyong circuit.
They will not be expecting to get things all their own way though.
Queensland champion Darren Giacometti, other former national titleholders Mark Jennings and Anthony Beare, “Queen of the Mount” Brooke Ferguson and Redline fan favourite Mick Dann will see to that.
Morris Ahearn, Jason Degoldi, Mt Gambier’s Steven Gartner, Purdie Brothers Mark and Scott, Ballarat’s Mick Clark and Lenny Bates are others with prospects of holding the trophy aloft.
V8 thunder sedans, national junior sedans and the second round in the “Wild West Shoot Out“‘ for mini sprintcars will make up the program on Saturday night.
Sunday’s “Gold Rush” finale will be complemented by the “Firecracker 5000”, which has attracted Australian late model sedan champion Callum Harper.
He will have his hands full against the likes of David Robertson (NSW), Scott McPherson (ACT), and Cameron Pearson and Daniel Barton, who are the strongest performing Victorians this season.
Brendan Hucker and Mick Hetherington are also in the field, looking to take a win on their home track in front of their family and friends.
Two divisions of open sedan also race on Sunday.
Gates open at 2pm each day, with racing at 5pm.
